Megan + Travis | Tyee Wine Cellars

Travis and Megan's beautiful color palette of green, cream and blue is an ode to their service in the U.S. Army.  When working with brides on a themed wedding I like to take the approach of a gentle nod, keeping the main focus on the bride and groom, while giving care to their vision.  This incredibly loving couple traveled back home to Corvallis to celebrate their wedding with family and friends at the picturesque Tyee vineyard.  It was an uncharacteristically warm day for us Oregonians, but a respite for these two who were currently stationed in Georgia!  Despite the heat, the sun made for some incredible natural lighting and Powers Studio was there to capture it all. For even more photos, you can check out their blog post here.

Megan and I started talking flowers more than a year before the wedding and goodness was it fun!  We made lists of favorite flowers, and blooms that she knew she didn't want.  We talked about seasons, sentiments, smells, and styling.  In the end, Megan centered on colors, cascade, big and a wild, and a natural feel, the rest was up to me.  This was my first attempt at a hand ties cascading bouquet and I fell in love while making it.  David Austin's Patience garden rose combined with the creamy Vendella created a depth to the cream portion of the palette, thistle and anemones brought the blue element and ivy, queen anne's lace, succulents, oregonia and ruscus intertwined to play up the mix of greens.  For a moment I thought maybe the bouquet was too big for Megan's delicate frame, but she rocked it and loved every moment.  Travis wore a succulent and anemone boutonniere to match, with accents of baby's breath and thistle.

Every pose was so fierce, it was hard to choose a favorite! Way to be photogenic!  Megan's succulent hair piece was so fun to put together.  My desert roots always enjoys adding that mint beauty into any design.

I love the variety of backdrop that Tyee provides.  From vineyard to Oak trees, Hazelnut groves and open fields, you will not be disappointed. For more photos of the property be sure to check out my post on out styled shoot with Amanda photographic.
